Pelvic Health

Pelvic health symptoms can be difficult to talk about, particularly when you’re not sure what has changed or where to begin.

I offer pants-on pelvic health consultations for women who would like help understanding their symptoms and what their body may need.

In-person appointments are available in Denham, with online consultations available if you prefer to begin from home or live further away.

COULD I HELP YOU?

You may be experiencing:

• Leaks when coughing, sneezing, laughing or exercising
• Urgency or needing to visit the toilet more frequently
• Heaviness, pressure or concerns about prolapse
• Pelvic pain or discomfort
• Painful intimacy
• Difficulty feeling or connecting with your pelvic floor
• A pelvic floor that feels difficult to relax
• Constipation or difficulty emptying your bowel
• Changes following childbirth, surgery or menopause
• Back, hip or pelvic pain alongside pelvic health symptoms

You don’t need to know whether your pelvic floor is tight, weak or not coordinating well before booking. Exploring this is part of the consultation.

A PANTS-ON, WHOLE-BODY APPROACH

The pelvic floor doesn’t work on its own. Breathing, pressure, posture, the abdominal wall, hips, pelvis, nervous system, hormones and previous surgery may all influence how it feels and functions.

Your consultation may include looking at your breathing, abdominal wall, back, hips, pelvis, movement and how your body manages pressure.

This is a pants-on assessment. I’ll explain what we’re doing as we go, and you can ask questions at any point.

YOUR FIRST CONSULTATION

We’ll talk through your symptoms, medical history, bladder and bowel habits, childbirth or surgery history, menopause changes and anything you have already tried.

We’ll then explore some of the wider clues that may be contributing to your symptoms.

At the end of the consultation, I’ll explain what we have found and suggest your next steps. This may include individual exercises, breathing or movement work, bladder or bowel advice, hands-on osteopathic treatment, an online programme or referral to another healthcare professional where appropriate.

Online consultations

An online consultation gives you time to talk privately from home. We can discuss your symptoms, explore relevant movement and breathing patterns, and work out the most appropriate next step.
